Plans for a gym and retail space at the former BHS site on North Street have been approved.
Taunton Deane Borough Council have approved plans for a change of use to the first and second floor to Class D2 (assembly and leisure) as well as roof level additional enclosures and alterations to the shop front facade.
The first and second floors of the existing vacant three storey building will be changed from retail use to a gym.
The ground floor will be retained in retail use and there has been speculation that Poundland will move in from its current location also on North Street.
Taunton’s BHS closed in July last year after going into administration.
