The collision occurred at 10.20am on Wednesday January 22, 2014 as two vehicles travelled southbound between junctions 23 and 24 on the Motorway at Bridgwater.
An elderly man has been left seriously ill following a collision on the M5 last week.
A silver Peugeot 206 and a grey Vauxhall Insignia were travelling on the southbound carriageway between junctions 23 and 24 around Bridgwater. A Grey Vauxhall Insignia car with one occupant collided with the rear of a silver Peugeot 106 carrying two people. The 84-year-old driver of the Peugeot received head and internal injuries and is currently in Musgrove Park Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
