Peacocks On Cup Trail

Taunton Town resume their quest for success in this season’s Somerset Premier Cup when they travel to Wells City in a Quarter Final tie tonight, kick-off at 7.30pm. The Toolstation League side currently lie in 14th position in the First Division table and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Ashton and Backwell in their most recent fixture at the weekend, but the Peacocks will not be taking their opponents lightly, especially since their last visit to the cathedral city ended in a 1-0 reverse in the same competition back in November 2009. Ross MacNab is unfortunately cup tied after playing for Clevedon Town earlier in the competition but Nat Pepperell returns to the squad after missing the win at Didcot. Manager Leigh Robinson said:” It was great to get back to action on Saturday and fingers crossed that continues tomorrow. It’s a cup that we want to do well in and I’d like to think we have a great chance to win it so there will be no taking our foot off the pedal from Saturday.”
