A man from Taunton has been ordered to pay an £8,500 confiscation order following a conviction for cannabis production.
Wayne Honeywell, 57, of Slough Green, Taunton, appeared at Taunton Crown Court on January 9 for the confiscation hearing under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
In August 2014, he was convicted of the production of cannabis and was ordered to do 120 hours of community service.
The court heard that he had benefited from his criminal activity to the value of £8,500.00.
At the confiscation hearing he was ordered to repay the full value of the monies stolen within six months or face a further four and a half months in prison. He will still be required to pay the confiscation order.
Dr Kirstie Cogram, Manager of Avon and Somerset Police’s Financial Investigation Unit said: “This result demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that crime does not and will not pay.”
