Comeytrowe/Trull planning application including up to 2,000 homes and primary school submitted

Taunton Deane Borough Council has received a planning application for a large development on land at Comeytrowe/Trull on the edge of Taunton.

The outline application is for an a mixed use urban extension including up to 2,000 homes, employment land, a local centre, new primary school, a link road connecting the A38 and Honiton Road and a 300-space park and ride..

The applicants, a consortium of Taylor Wimpey UK, MacTaggart and Mickel Ltd, Bovis Homes Ltd and Summerfield developments (SW) Ltd, have submitted a range of supporting documents which are being assessed by the Borough Council’s planning department and statutory consultees such as highways, the Environment Agency and Natural England.

The application – reference number 42/14/0069 – is available for inspection at Taunton Deane Borough Council’s offices in Belvedere Road, Taunton, and online at www.tauntondeane.gov.uk.

The Council is notifying nearby residents in Comeytrowe, Trull and surrounding areas.  It plans to update its website to show any relevant latest information regarding the progress of the application.

The public has until 16 February 2015 to comment on the application – this can be done by letter, by email or online at www.tauntondeane.gov.uk.  Those who submit comments will be notified of the date when the planning committee will be considering the application. This has yet to be set.
