Images released of wanted man following burglary in St James Street area of Taunton

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for any help identifying this man who is wanted on suspicion of burglary for one, perhaps two, incidents in Taunton recently.

The pictures below are taken from inside a shop in the St James Street area of town in which a safe containing cash was stolen at about 10.30pm on Monday (4 May), the burglary causing damage valued at about £750.

The infra-red pictures distort the colour of his clothing so that can’t be accurately described, but in the second picture it appears the suspect has a tattoo on his lower back as shown by the arrow when he crouches down.

A second man was believed to be with him.

The suspect may also have been responsible for a burglary on 23 April at the Belvedere Trading Estate, at about 10.15pm, in which a quantity of coffee and soft drinks were stolen after the burglar climbed a fence and broke in.

If you have any information about the identity of the suspect or the burglary, call PC 504 Stewart Cuthbert on 101 quoting crime reference 45984/15.

For the Belvedere Trading Estate burglary, contact PC 1883 Gareth Evans quoting reference 41647/15.

Alternatively, you can pass on any information completely confidentially via Crimestoppers by using their website or calling 0800 555 111 and quoting the same references.
