Male pedestrian dies following fatal collision with articulated lorry on M5 between J25-26

Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed that a male pedestrian has died following a collision with an articulated lorry on the M5 between Junction 25-26 northbound near Taunton at about 6.50pm last night (Sunday 31 May).

The victim, a 46 year old man from Taunton, died at the scene from his injuries. His next of kin have been informed.

A full examination of the scene was carried out last night which resulted in both carriageways being closed for several hours.

If anyone saw the collision, or has information which could help Avon and Somerset Police’s inquiry, please call the Collision Investigation Unit via 101 and quote log number CI/115/15.

Travel news: The M5 is closed northbound between junctions 26 Wellington and 25 Taunton due to an accident involving a lorry and a pedestrian. Avoid the area if you possibly can.
