Dog owner fined for not picking up near primary school entrance

A dog owner who was witnessed not picking up after their dog fouled near North Newton Primary School has been issued a £75 Fixed Penalty Notice.

This comes after complaints from North Newton Primary School and councillors about dog fouling near the school’s entrance.

Sedgemoor District Council’s Dog Warden Tina Kick undertook intervention work and upped the number patrols in the area.

Sedgemoor District Council said:

“If members of the public have concerns about dog fouling, please contact the Dog Wardens on 0845 408 2540/0300 303 7800.
Fixed Penalty Notices are £75; there is a reduction to £50 if paid within 7 days.”
