Yellow Warning for strong winds and heavy rain over Easter

The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings of wind across South West England on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday, when Storm Katie arrives.

Strong winds with heavy rain at times will move east across the country on Saturday bringing gusts of up to 60 mph.

The areas affected are likely to be:

Cornwall, Devon, Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, Dorset, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Plymouth, Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, Torbay, Wiltshire, Bournemouth, Poole and Isles of Scilly.

The warning is valid from 06:00 to 21:00 Saturday 26 March.

Winds are expected to strengthen markedly across southern England in the early hours of Monday with the potential for up to 70mph gusts.

The areas affected are likely to be:

Bath and North East Somerset, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Isles of Scilly, North Somerset, Plymouth, Poole, Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Torbay and Wiltshire.

The warning is valid from 01:15 to:
15:00 on Monday 28 March.
