Man dies after car collides with tree on A38

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses following death of a car driver in West Somerset.

A Toyota Yaris was being driven along the A38 southbound at Old Pawlett Road yesterday morning (Sunday) at about 6am, when it was in collision with the nearside kerb and went down a roadside bank, colliding with a tree.

The male driver was declared dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

Avon and Somerset Police said:

“We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may have information to assist our enquiries.

Anyone able to help is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on 101, quoting reference CI-74/16/1717.”
