Appeal for witnesses after cyclist is punched in Taunton

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Taunton.

The incident happened at the junction of St Augustine Street and Priory Avenue.

The victim was cycling along St Augustine Street when a dark green coloured people carrier pulled across him, blocking him.

The driver and front seat passenger then began threatening the cyclist. The passenger then got out of the vehicle and punched the cyclist who was able to cycle away.

Avon and Somerset Police said:

“The incident happened at 1.50pm so it is possible there may have been people in the area who saw the incident and can help our enquiries.
