Weather warning for South West with scattered heavy and thundery showers expected

A severe weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for today (Wednesday).

A yellow warning of rain is in place with scattered heavy and thundery showers expected to develop leading to slow-moving downpours.

Some locations will miss these downpours, but residents are being made aware of possible localised flooding and disruption to travel where they do occur.

The areas affected are likely to be Bath and North East Somerset, Bournemouth, Bristol, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Poole, Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon, Torbay, Wiltshire, Cornwall and Plymouth.

The warning is valid from 10:00 – 21:00 today (Wednesday).
