Driver dies after car collides with telegraph pole and wall in Creech Heathfield

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for the public’s help following a fatal road traffic collision this morning.

The incident happened shortly after 02:00 at Creech Heathfield, at the junction of North End and Charlton Road.

Avon and Somerset Police said:

“A car appears to have crossed over a carriageway to the opposite side of the road, where it was in collision with a telegraph pole and then a dry stone wall.

The male driver of the vehicle was declared dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

The road was closed to allow a detailed examination by collision investigators.

It was re-opened at 7.50am.

We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident wh may have information to help our enquiries.
