FLOOD WARNING in force for River Tone from Waterrow to Taunton

A flood warning is in force for the River Tone from Waterrow to Taunton.

The warning states:

“Widespread rainfall, heavy at times, is forecast throughout Monday with lighter showers during Tuesday.

Rainfall totals of 30 mm are likely with 40 to 50 mm possible in some areas. River levels on the River Tone at Greenham are rising.”

Another flood warning is in force for the River Tone from Bathpool to Ham including Ruishton and Creech St Michael, riverside properties.

The warning states:

“Widespread rainfall, heavy at times, is forecast throughout Monday with lighter showers during Tuesday.

Rainfall totals of 30 mm are likely with 40 to 50 mm possible in some areas. River levels on the River Tone at Bishops Hull are rising.”

An amber weather warning of rain was extended into Somerset this morning and there is also a flood alert in place for the River Tone catchment.

Somerset County Council has received numerous reports of localised flooding and standing water in Taunton Deane including A38 Bradford-on-Tone, A358 Taunton to Ilminster, A358 West Bagborough, A38 Wellington relief road, Comeytrowe Road in Taunton, Nynehead Road, West Yeo Road and Burrow Drove near Burrowbridge, various roads around Wellington, Oake and Ruishton.
