Weather warning as fog expected to become thicker and more extensive

A yellow weather warning of fog is in place across the South West.

The warning states:

“Areas of fog, which have not cleared in some areas during Thursday, will become thicker and more extensive this evening.

Patches of dense, freezing fog will then affect some areas through the rest of the night, although probably more restricted to parts of southwest England by Friday morning.

Please be aware of likely tricky road travel conditions.”

The warning has been issued for Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall, Plymouth, Bournemouth, Poole, Torbay from 16:00 today (Thursday 1 December) to 10:00 tomorrow (Friday 2 December).
