A yellow weather warning of wind is in place across South West England with strong winds and heavy rainfall expected tomorrow afternoon (Friday).
The warning comes as the second named storm of the season, Storm Barbara, brings gales and squally rain to the UK on Friday.
The warning states:
“A short period of strong winds is expected to develop during Friday afternoon. Gusts of around 50-60 mph are likely in places, perhaps up to 70 mph in exposed locations. Some disruption to travel is possible.”
The warning has been issued for Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Plymouth, Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Torbay and Wiltshire from 12:00 to 18:00 on Friday (23 December).
