Casualties cut free following collision on B3227

Three fire appliances from Wiveliscombe and Wellington were mobilised to a road traffic collision where people were believed trapped on the B3227 Milverton at 21:10 last night (Wednesday).

On arrival crews confirmed there were people trapped in the vehicle which was on its roof in a wooded area on a roundabout.

The rescue tender from Taunton was also requested to attend.

Crews got to work stabilising the vehicle and getting the cutting gear out.

Crews quickly confirmed one casualty was released from the van by the fire service and they were trying to release the second casualty.

Before long the second casualty was released from the van and being assessed by paramedics.
