All lanes are now clear on the M5 Southbound between Junctions 24 and 25 following a collision.
Following a request from the police, three fire appliances from Bridgwater and Taunton and the rescue tender from Taunton were mobilised to a three vehicle road traffic collision on the M5 Southbound between Junctions 24 and 25 at 08:19 this morning (Monday) involving a lorry and two cars, where one person was believed to be trapped.
Shortly after the first appliance arrived on scene and assessed the casualty in the vehicle, they confirmed that whilst they were unable to exit the vehicle, they were medically not physically trapped.
As other crews arrived to make the scene safe and create a safety barrier from oncoming vehicles, the first crew set to work releasing the casualty.
In the end they were assisted from their vehicle, not extricated, by crews and were left in the hands of paramedics.
This incident, now complete, was brought under control at 08:56.
Once crews made the vehicles and scene safe duty of care was left with the police, ambulance and highways.
There were no other casualties.
