Taunton fire crew have been at work extinguishing tractor and combine harvester fires.
Two fire appliances from Taunton were mobilised to a report of a tractor on fire in Lodes Lane, Kingston St Mary at 12:55 this afternoon (Tuesday).
Fire crews requested a water carrier and an additional pumping appliance which were mobilised from Bridgwater.
The incident involved one tractor, one trailer and one acre of standing corn all destroyed by fire.
Fire crews used two breathing apparatus wearers, four hose reel jets, one main jet and two beaters to extinguish the fire.
The cause of the fire was confirmed as accidental.
Two fire appliances from Taunton were later mobilised to a report of a combine harvester on fire in a field on Ash Road, Stoke St Mary at 15:36.
On arrival fire crews requested a water bowser and an additional pumping appliance which were mobilised from Bridgwater.
The incident involved one combine harvester which was severely damaged by fire and two acres of standing crop.
Fire crews used four breathing apparatus wearers, five hose reel jets, one main jet, one compressed air foam jet and fire beaters to extinguish the fire.
Crews were delayed at the incident for a further hour damping down hotspots.
