Strong winds hit Somerset today (Thursday) causing fallen trees, branches and debris.
The A358 in both directions was partially blocked and there was slow traffic this morning due to a fallen tree between the A378 (Thornfalcon) and the M5 Junction 25 (Taunton, Ruishton). The road has since cleared and traffic returned to normal after the fallen tree was removed.
The A372 Westonzoyland Road re-opened after a tree fell onto a vehicle.
It was a busy morning for Somerset highways teams who dealt with 31 fallen trees across the county including Wellington by 12:00. There was also a trampoline in the road reported in Burnham.
Winds now look to be easing but it's been a busy old morning for our team with 31 fallen trees dealt with by 12pm, including these at Montacute, Wellington and Yeovilton #trunkroads
