Bedroom fire in Taunton

Two fire engines from Taunton and a fire engine from Bridgwater were called to a report of smoke issuing from a property in Larkspur Close in Taunton at 16:04 this afternoon (Saturday).

On arrival, crews got to work extinguishing the fire in the first floor bedroom caused by an iron using one hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus and one safety jet.

One bedroom on the first floor was 60% damaged by fire and 80% of the first floor was damaged by smoke.

There was smoke logging to the loft space of the adjacent property but there was no fire damage.

Crews extinguished the fire using four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one safety jet, two thermal imaging cameras, co2 monitor, two triple extension ladders and a positive pressure fan.

The cause of the fire was confirmed as accidental.
