Taunton Racecourse host their Half Term Raceday on Tuesday February 19th

Taunton Racecourse host their Half Term Raceday in association with the Royal Bath and West Show on Tuesday February 19th when the first of the seven races on the card that boasts a prize pot of over £61k is due off at 2.10pm.

In addition to the action on the course there will be fun for all of the family including a visit from Ferret World and a parade by the Taunton Vale Foxhounds.

First up is the Free Tickets Available for 11th March Selling Handicap Hurdle Race over two miles and three furlongs which is followed 30 minutes later by the Aspen Waite Complete Growth Service Novices’ Hurdle over two miles and half a furlong.

Next to post is The British EBF Mares’ ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle Race over two miles at three furlongs which is due off at 3.10pm.

The first of the two events over the jumps course follows when The Royal Bath and West of England Society Steeple Chase ( A Novices’ Limited Handicap) over two miles and seven furlongs, with a very generous prize pot of £10.800 goes to post half an hour later.

The big race of the day is The Green King Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 2), over two miles and half a furlong which has £18,500 up for grabs is due off at 4.10pm.

The penultimate action on the course is The Roy Dunn Memorial Handicap Steeple Chase over two miles and about five and a half furlongs.

Roy Dunn was a long time supporter of National Hunt Racing at Taunton Racecourse and his son Nigel will be presenting the Roy Dunn Annual Challenge Trophy to the winning owner.

The afternoon concludes with The Ladies Day 4th April Mare’s Handicap Hurdle Race over three miles- the longest of the day, which starts at 5.10pm.

Racegoers are reminded that if they purchase their tickets in advance on-line before 10am on the day prior to racing that they can take advantage of the generous discounts on offer.

A courtesy coach service departs from Taunton Railway Station two hours before the off and returns from the course 30 minutes after the start of the last race.
