With the Easter Bank Holiday fast approaching, Somerset’s GPs are reminding patients to order and collect their repeat prescriptions before Good Friday (19 April).
Dr Ed Ford, GP and Chairman of Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Every Bank Holiday we find some patients forget to re-order their essential medicines in good time and as a consequence, they become very anxious and may even end up calling emergency services or the out of hours service for help.
“If you take daily prescription medicines please take a few minutes to check whether you have sufficient supplies for the Bank Holiday weekend. If not, please get your repeat prescription at the start of the week, well before the holiday.”
