Man knocked unconscious in assault in Taunton


Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed the person they need to speak to has come forward.

Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was knocked unconscious in an assault in Taunton.

It happened just after 03:00 on Sunday 5 May near Debenhams in North Street.

Ambulance crew attended and called officers to the scene.

The victim, a 31-year-old man from Taunton, was taken to hospital by ambulance.

He suffered concussion and needed treatment including dental work following the assault.

The man had been on a night out and the assault happened soon after he left the Zinc club in Bridge Street.

Officers have been carrying out a number of enquiries since the incident.

They now want to speak to the people in these images who may have information which could help.

Police are especially keen to trace a man described as white, in his 20s, with short dark hair wearing a black-t-shirt with a motif over the left breast and light-coloured ‘skinny’ jeans.
