Enough is enough for Taunton Town FC

Taunton Town Football Club have joined a 4-day social media boycott alongside Premier League, English Football League and Women’s Super League teams to combat abuse and discrimation across the footballing community.

Taunton Town posted to social media on Monday evening saying, “The Peacocks will join a social media boycott in an aim to raise awareness of the issues surrounding online abuse and the lack of preventative measures taken by social media platforms to stop online abuse from occurring.”

This comes after Twitter, Instagram and Facebook being asked, last month, to go further when dealing with claims for online abuse towards footballers.

Kick It Out’s chairman, Sanjay Bhandari, said “This boycott signifies our collective anger. Social media is now sadly a regular vessel for toxic abuse.”

The boycott will start on the 30th April and last until the 3rd May. For more about Taunton Town Football Club, head over to their social media channels, just search @TauntonTownFC.
