A multi-million-pound scheme to improve Taunton’s Toneway Creech Castle Junction is moving on apace following overnight work last week.
Road users travelling regularly along the route may have noticed a change in traffic management layout following this activity which has enabled the contractor access to the next area of work.
Now there’s an opportunity coming up for the public to meet the team early next month to catch up on the scheme’s progress and find more about what’s coming up and what the junction’s going to look like when it’s finished.
The drop-in event on Thursday 7 October at the Brittons Ash Community Hall in Monkton Heathfield will be an opportunity to view the plans and ask questions of the technical team delivering the project. It runs from 3pm to 7.30pm and all are welcome. You can find out more about the venue here.
It’s important to stress this session is purely about the Creech Castle project design, construction and delivery, including traffic management on Toneway and along the closed section of the A38. The team will not be covering other projects or traffic control measures elsewhere at this session.
“This is a really important scheme to improve capacity at one of Taunton’s busiest junctions, which is currently a major pinch-point,” said Somerset County Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport and Highways, Cllr John Woodman.
“But this is also going to hugely improve access for cyclists and pedestrians.
“This is a great chance to have a look at the plans and talk to the team – we’d encourage anyone with an interest to go along.”
