Somerset tree farm invites Christmas wishes for charity

SOMERSET residents are being asked to make a wish at a Christmas tree farm to help raise money for a charity in the South West from now until December 23 (December 2021).

Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm is inviting people to pay a visit and write their wishes on a star in return for a charitable donation to Children’s Hospice South West.

Trudy Hendy, from Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm, which is based at Middle Hill Farm in Langford Budville, said, “Our Christmas wishing tree will take pride of place and will be a great way to raise money for our chosen charity, Children’s Hospice South West, which provides hospice care and respite for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

“The charity offers families in the South West support when they need it most and provides a lifeline for families experiencing an incredibly difficult time. We know what an invaluable service it is and are proud to be supporting such a worthy cause.

“People visiting our tree farm and Christmas shop will be able to come and write their wishes on a star, which will then be tied to the tree in return for a donation to our chosen charity.”

Children’s Hospice South West has been caring for children for more than 25 years and provides specialist palliative care, respite, emergency care, end of life care and bereavement support.

Due to the support the charity receives from the people, businesses and communities of the South West and beyond, it has created three children’s hospice centres with the most recent opening its doors in 2011.

It continues to offer the highest level of support to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families across Cornwall, Plymouth, Torbay, Devon, Somerset, North Somerset, Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Trudy Hendy added: “We hope lots of people come along to pop their wishes on the tree to help us raise lots of money for our chosen charity and their vital work in the community. People will be able to make their wishes until December 23.”
