Critically acclaimed show WOLF is appearing at Taunton Brewhouse

Taunton Brewhouse is gaining a reputation for programming great original drama and this season is no exception.

Critically acclaimed and award-winning show WOLF is appearing at Taunton Brewhouse on 9 Feb. Lewis Doherty is effectively a one man show – armed with just a chair, he mimes every prop, makes every sound effect and brings to life over thirty characters in this cyberpunk, neon-noir, one man action-packed blockbuster movie! He invites you into Shadow City, a hellhole of a city, but a city nonetheless. Detective Jay Walker is dead. With no leads and a case colder than ice, it’s up to his ex-partner Patrick Wolf to bust some heads and find out who killed him.

WOLF is followed by BOAR on 10 Feb. This time we are taken to the Kingdom of Skadi, a distant land of adventure and evil, where pillagers, pirates and barbarians do battle in a world on the brink of destruction. With the King’s daughter captured by an evil dragon, a hero must rise and collect the biggest bounty in the land. Who will survive in this quest of epic proportions and formidable consequences?

Want to know how he does it? On 12 Feb Lewis is running a workshop, Creating Cinematic Theatre. He will help you discover how you can push the boundaries of what’s possible on stage with just a performer.

Both shows and workshop are brought to you by Beasthouse who produce physical, filmic and very funny work. Using just performers and the audience’s imagination, they create entertaining, compelling and epic stories on stage. Through referencing popular and cult culture genres they push the boundaries of theatre to create dynamic, ambitious, and cinematic shows.

Just as importantly, they firmly believe theatre can be a really good night out.
