A fire within the doorway of Wildwood restaurant in Taunton’s Market House has been confirmed by the fire service as ‘deliberate’.
Crews were called to the fire on Fore Street at 20:09 this evening (Thursday).
A spokesperson for Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service said:
“Three Fire engines and an Aerial Platform Ladder from Taunton where all sent to a report of a fire in a restaurant.
On arrival crews confirmed this was a fire within the doorway of the 3 storey building, which was closed at the time.
Crews extinguished the fire using 2 Hose Reel Jets, a Thermal Image Camera and a Positive Pressure Fan.
The cause of the fire was deliberate.“
