Meet Father Christmas and help raise funds for charity

BOYS and girls from Somerset who qualify for Santa’s ‘nice’ list will be able to meet him at a Christmas tree farm in the county this month (December 2021).

Father Christmas will be taking up residence once again at Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm this weekend (December 4 & 5) onwards with donations going to Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW).

Nick Hendy from Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm, which is based at Middle Hill Farm in Langford Budville, said: “We’re delighted this year to have Father Christmas with us once again on selected days in the run up to Christmas. He already popped in to meet shoppers last weekend and earlier this week but is back now in earnest for December and ready to meet all the children who would like to tell him their Christmas wishes.

“Each child who visits Father Christmas will be given an age-appropriate gift and parents/guardians are welcome to take photos of their child during the visit.

“All we ask in return for a visit is that a donation is made to our Charity of the Year – CHSW. All donations are welcome and can be dropped into our collection box in the shop.

“Father Christmas will be in at certain times on two weekends, starting this weekend, in the run up to Christmas – December 4 & 5 and 11 & 12.

“He will be back with us again for our late-night open evenings on Thursday, December 9 and Friday, December 10, from 5pm until 7pm.”

On Saturdays, December 4 and 11, Father Christmas will be at the Christmas tree farm from 10am until 5pm and on Sundays, December 5 and 12, from 11am until 3pm.

CHSW is currently the only provider of specialist hospice care for children in the region. It offers much needed support for youngsters with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their families at its three hospices: Charlton Farm in North Somerset, Little Bridge House in North Devon and Little Harbour in Cornwall.

Paula Garret, Area Fundraiser, from CHSW said: “Every penny raised at Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm is essential to help fund the work we do and we’re very grateful to everyone who helps fundraise for Children’s Hospice South West by visiting Father Christmas and making a donation. Please pop along and see Santa if you can and enjoy the wonderful ambience in the shop and out in the Christmas tree shed. It’s a great day or evening out for all the family, creating magical memories, just like the precious memories we help create here at Little Bridge House!”
