This season for one night only at The Brewhouse, Taunton, it’s Enid Blyton…for Grown-ups!

Created by Amy Cooke-Hodgson (founder of Edfringe and West End hit Austentatious), and Jonah Fazel (BAFTA winning History Bombs) Bumper Blyton is chock full of innuendo and lashings of puns, performed in vintage costume with music and songs.

Embarking on their first major National tour, this unmissable spoof is sure to provide some much-needed post-pandemic (gin and) tonic.

This February 26TH they’re coming to TAUNTON to perform an entirely improvised production of
Bumper Blyton at  THE BREWHOUSE.

The show offers an hilarious tongue-in-cheek homage to Enid and her work, to be enjoyed by everyone aged 12+ or anyone who can remember being that age!  Inspired by crowd suggestions in the form of illustrations drawn by the audience, the cast invent a hilarious one-off adventure live on the hoof. Allowing the audience to return to a time when they could get a delicious tongue sandwich or wrap their lips around a nice spotted dick…

Bumper Blyton is an anarchic parody of the books everyone loved as a child such as; The Faraway Tree, Mallory Towers and of course the Famous Five. 2020 will marks the show’s fifth year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival after developing a cult following and a 100% sell out record. With a multi-award-winning cast of some of the UK’s best-known improvisers from stage and screen including; The Comedy Store, Showstoppers the Improvised Musical and TV’s Doctor Who.

The Cast of Bumper Blyton are some of the UK’s best-known and most experienced improvisers. Between them they have won numerous awards for their work. Including 2 Oliver Awards, 2 Chortle Awards, 1 BAFTA, 2 National Television Society awards and many more. This means that whilst not even the cast know what to expect from the story, you can be sure of a top-notch evening of hysterical antics inspired by the nations most beloved author.
