A man was taken to hospital last night after petrol was poured onto a BBQ causing an explosion in Taunton.
A fire engine from Taunton attended a shed that was on fire in the back garden of a property on Mountway Road in Taunton at 20:49 last night (Thursday).
Upon arrival, the crew confirmed that the fire was out.
A spokesperson for Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service said:
“The fire originated from a BBQ, the occupant had poured petrol onto the BBQ to light it, this resulted in it exploding and catching the shed alight.
Unfortunately a gentleman on scene was conveyed to hospital after received burns to his hands and face, also a laceration to his head from the explosion.”
