A person has been rescued after becoming trapped in a vehicle following a collision involving both a car and a lorry earlier today (Tuesday).
A fire engine from Taunton, Williton, Nether Stowey and the heavy rescue tender from Taunton were called to the road traffic collision in Bishops Lydeard at 18:09.
A spokesperson for Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service said:
“Upon arrival crews confirmed one car and one lorry to be involved in the road traffic collision and one person to be medically trapped.
The casualty was extricated from the vehicle by fire service and ambulance personnel and was left in the hands of the ambulance.
Crews made the vehicles safe and handed the incident over to the police.“
