Jake Ball joins Durham on loan

Somerset seamer, Jake Ball is set to join Durham on a short-term loan.

The 34-year-old will be available for selection for the Seat Unique Riverside-based County for the next two rounds of the Rothesay County Championship before returning to the Cooper Associates County Ground.

Somerset CCC Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry believes that the deal will benefit Jake, Durham and Somerset. “It’s a long and demanding season and it’s absolutely crucial that our players are match-ready when called upon.

“Whilst there are many benefits to playing for the Second XI, there is no substitute for playing competitive First Team cricket.

“We have been able to successfully utilise the loan system over the last few years, and once again this is an arrangement that will be mutually beneficial for all concerned. Jake will get time on the field, Durham will get a quality player and we will benefit from him returning to Taunton raring to go.”
