Fire crews extinguished a bedroom fire in Taunton earlier today (Sunday).
“We received a call into the Control Room at around 15:35 to advise us of smoke issuing from the property of a first floor window on Queen Street in Taunton” said Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service.
Crews attending confirmed that there was a fire in a bedroom on the first floor involving furniture.
The fire was extinguished by crews using two breathing apparatus, one safety jet, one thermal imaging camera and one positive pressure ventilation fan.
Crews confirmed there was approximately 10% damage to the bedroom and 50% smoke damage to the rest of the property.
