Somerset CCC Appoint Pavilion Contractor

Somerset County Cricket Club are delighted to announce that RG Spiller, a local company based in Chard, have been appointed as Somerset County Cricket Club’s main contractor for the build of the new Somerset Pavilion.

The £3.8M project will see the Old Pavilion replaced by a state of the art facility comprising high-quality covered seating, a large bar and entertainment area, superb corporate facilities, a world class media centre and a magnificent roof top viewing area.

Somerset County Cricket Club CEO, Guy Lavender, is delighted that the project is progressing as planned: “The selection of the main contractor has been a comprehensive and lengthy process with a range of companies interviewed from across the country. RG Spiller provided an outstanding proposal and I am delighted that we have now signed the contract with them for the new build. They are a local company who take great pride in their work and I have every confidence that they will build a facility of which we can all be proud”.

RG Spiller, MD Andrew Howard said: “We are delighted to have been chosen to carry out this exciting new project and look forward to working with the Club in the coming months”.

Work on the Somerset Pavilion is due to commence in September 2014 and once completed it will bring the ground up to the technical specification required to host one-day International cricket. It is hoped that part of the pavilion will be ready for use during the closing stages of the 2015 season with the entire facility fully opened for use from the beginning of the 2016 campaign.
