Taunton Town FC must do better!

Games continue to come thick and fast now for Town who play again at the Viridor Stadium on 27 March in a rearranged fixture with title-chasing Cirencester Town in the Calor League, kick-off 7.45pm.

The Peacocks will need to show a drastic improvement from Tuesday’s poor second half performance against Guildford City, as the Cotswolds outfit possess the best away record in the division, having won 12 of their 15 games on the road this season and looking certainties for a play-off place at the very least. The reverse fixture went Cirencester’s way back in September by a 3-1 margin.

Steve Kingdon returns to the Town squad after missing Tuesday’s game due to having a tooth extracted but Rob Norrish is away for the next two games whilst Simon Ingram is also doubtful with his niggling hamstring injury. Manager Leigh Robinson remarked:” We’re going to have to show an awful lot more character and bottle than Tuesday to get a result against Cirencester. They have the best away record in the league and will come with huge motivation given their league position.

It’ll be interesting to see how we react after the diabolical second half of Tuesday.”
