Taunton Town FC’s March Back on Home Soil

Taunton Town FC will be looking to consolidate their comfortable mid-table position when they host Clevedon Town in the Calor League at the Viridor Stadium tomorrow (5 April), kick-off 3.00pm. The sides contested a 1-1 draw at the Hand Stadium in early December, a result which brought an end to the Peacocks’ six match winning run, but the 19th-placed Seasiders have generally found it hard going this season and are still not completely safe from relegation. However Town will be mindful of their recent upset against Guildford City so will need to adopt the same determination they showed in their succcess at Bath City on Tuesday evening. Manager Leigh Robinson said:” The last few weeks really have been a mixed bag. We’ve always dug out a win when least expected but during March we have failed to follow it up in the next game. Tomorrow therefore is a big test of mental strength.” Peacock fans will be pleased to hear that Rodney Marsh is again in the Taunton squad for his first home game since being injured in the clash with Didcot Town on 2 November whilst Ross MacNab and Shane Kingston are both back after missing the Bath tie due to being cup-tied and illness respectively. Chris Young and Simon Ingram though are only 50/50 to return from injury.
